Basic Photo Editing In Photoshop (1)
Overview;
This week in Graphic Design we had a set of video tutorials we had to watch in order to learn some basic photoshop editing techniques. Let me just say that my photo's did not turn out too hot. We had to watch 6 videos on how to edit. Some I understood! Some not so much. There was one tutorial I watched where it started out great! And then it went down hill... I did learn a lot, but I don't know if I will remember how to do everything when the time to show my knowledge comes.
The Photos;
For this photo we had to use the marquee tool to surround a bunch of broken/nasty spots on the wall, which we then used "content aware fill" to hide them. |
For this photo we used the patch tool to get rid of the words on the front of the mans shirt. |
For this edit we combined 3 photos together and then used pieces from the other tutorials we watched (like the clone stamp tool) to make the edit look more clean. |
For this photo we used the clone stamp tool to get rid of a tag attached to the jacket. |
For this photo we used the clone stamp tool to remove what looks to be a pole coming out from the mans head. After that we used the patch tool to make sure the sky was 100% the same color. |
In this photo we used the spot healing tool to get rid of dirt all over the boys face. |
All we had to do for this photo was use content aware fill to get rid of some pieces that were in the way. |
For this photo we used the square marquee tool and the content aware fill button to get rid of an unnecessary logo on the front of the surfboard. |
My Biggest Roadblocks
The two photos that were most difficult for me to complete were the collage and the removing the tag from the lady's jacket. The re-coloring was very poor; it was too dark and the texture doesn't look correct. Then with the collage, there were a bunch of different steps that I found hard to follow at times. For example, when I was fixing the stray pieces of hair off to the left side of the center image's face, I got lost and edited it incorrectly. It still worked, but it turned out darker than I wanted it to.
