Procedures

Procedures Video

For our project, our group decided to show the procedure, "How to enter the building" meaning after an appointment or something else of the sort. The process lasted multiple weeks. The very first thing we did was get assigned our director and the rest of our group. After this, we almost immediately started brainstorming ideas for our project. After we picked our topic, our group picked our roles and we began to storyboard. The storyboarding process lasted one whole class period. We drew and wrote our storyline out and then a couple weeks later we started filming. My role was co-camerawoman alongside Molly. It took a while to film, it was the longest portion of our process. Our team was still working out all of the camera kinks, and at one point we finally did. But in the meantime, we wasted one or two whole days of filming primarily because of the mix of not knowing how to use the camera and our location. For one, it was a very uncomfortable location to film at. It was generally busy, and the door system made it very hard to get successful shots. For the shot where Cain is opening the door after showing his ID, we had one camera and one take. We couldn't have done that shot a second time. We went one day of filming over which cut into our editing time. That was an issue. Our entire group was very behind in the editing process. I didn't have the opportunity to participate in class critique because my video just wasn't finished. I edited all of our two critique days and then had to stay after class for a one on one critique.

As mentioned before, I was a co-filmer. I really just learned how to use our sophomore video cameras. Our group was very good at communication. We shared our ideas and we got our points across. I personally felt pretty comfortable with my group. We all had our leadership moments even though Kenia was the director. The artist is typically the only one who can display their vision. Our timing/schedule was very off, too. So basically, for the next project, I think time management is something that will need to be improved.
